My New RegEx Coach

OK, maybe it isn’t really a coach, but it’s still a cool little tool for your RegEx arsenal.

One of the Bruce Lee RegEx ninjas at work, Aaron, was kind enough to take his valuable time, and explain some regex stuff to me today. He showed me this cool tool he uses to test patterns – The RegEx Coach.

You basically just stick some text you wanna match against, in the lower pane. In the top pane, type up a RegEx. As you type, it tries matching, and highlights what it matches in yellow, all in real time. Very slick!
